Mr. Govind Yadav

Founder

Mr. Govind Yadav

Mr. Govind Yadav is the founder of Gramin Vikas Samiti (GVS) — a veteran social worker with 28 years of experience across multiple Indian states. He is dedicated to working for Tribal, Dalit and Backward communities, championing livelihood improvement, strengthening of panchayati raj, education, health & nutrition, child rights, child protection and the environment. He has introduced modern techniques like SRI and SWI to improve farmers' agricultural yields, and has initiated several programmes to make women self-reliant. He also serves as State Convener of Madhya Pradesh Lok Sabhagi Sajha Munch (MPLSSM), which works for the sustainable development of children.

Dr. Meera Madhuri

A doctorate in Botany, Dr. Meera Madhuri is passionate about working for rural development causes. Women empowerment, fighting gender inequality and increasing female literacy are causes she strongly believes in and is currently working for. She also works for the upliftment of youth through motivation, skill development and employment, and motivates them to undertake social work such as donation of labour. A strong believer in the protection of nature and vegetation, she helps build a better understanding about the importance of vegetation through Gramin Vikas Samiti.

Mrs. Jwala

Mrs. Jwala holds a master's degree in Social Science from Dr. Harisingh Gour University, Sagar. She is passionate about working for social justice for women — their social and financial development. She is actively engaged in the formation of self-help groups and motivates them for sustained growth. She strongly believes in the development of public health equity in rural Bundelkhand.

Dr. Basant Yadav

Co-Director (Voluntary)

Dr. Basant Yadav

Co-Director of Gramin Vikas Samiti (GVS) since November 2019 on a voluntary basis. Passionate about developing sustainable livelihoods for rural populations. An agricultural engineer with a two-year Master's from IIT Roorkee in Hydrology, awarded the prestigious DAAD fellowship at TU Stuttgart, Germany, followed by a PhD at IIT Delhi in water resources engineering. National Postdoctoral Fellow (DST, Govt. of India, 2017). His research emphasises better and more efficient management of water quantity and quality, with extensive work on rainwater harvesting and managed aquifer recharge. Currently associated with the Cranfield Water Science Institute, Cranfield University, UK.

Dr. Niranjan Panigrahi

Dr. Niranjan Panigrahi

Adviser (Volunteer) for Gramin Vikas Samiti (GVS) and associated with the Cranfield Water Science Institute, Cranfield University, UK. B.S. and M.S. in Botany from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar; M.Tech in Agricultural Systems and Management from IIT Kharagpur, followed by a PhD from the Agricultural and Food Engineering Department, IIT Kharagpur. His research area includes agricultural water management for different crops in various climatic conditions. With GVS, he assists farmers to adopt farm-mechanised and organic techniques of farming to improve their livelihood.
